2022

Isaiah 40:31 — “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Happy New Year! We wanted to take a moment to highlight a few of the ways God has used Shoes and Good News to impact the community this year. 2022 was a wonderful year, and we can’t wait to see how God will move in 2023!

In August, Shoes and Good News celebrated one year of being officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We are very blessed to have received and distributed 798 pairs of shoes in our first year. Shoes and Good News partnered with 7 amazing neighborhoods around Fayetteville to host back to school shoe drives benefiting the Fayetteville Public Schools Outback. Together, we were able to send 534 children back to school with clean shoes, and it was a blessing to see so many neighbors helping neighbors. We also hosted shoe drives with Pi Beta Phi Sorority at the University of Arkansas, Tri Delta Sorority Alumni, and Haas Hall Academy. Shoes from those drives were distributed to Genesis Church, Children’s Safety Center, and Ramay Junior High. This year, we also launched our blog to provide encouragement and share GOOD NEWS with the entire community. Shoes and Good News also participated in Giving Tuesday—special thanks to the wonderful families that donated! On Christmas Eve, we received notice that a few community members were without shoes during the below freezing temperatures. It was a blessing to give the gift of winter boots to these people, and it was such a special way to end the year!

Thank you for all the support you’ve shown over the past year. None of this would be possible without your generous giving of both shoes and financial contributions. All glory truly goes to Him!
