A Lamp for My Feet
Psalm 119:105 (NIV) “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
The Reality.
We live in a world full of darkness, yet so many of us are blinded by the light. These blinding lights come in many forms: money, fame, success, clothes, comparison, guilt, popularity, fear, the list continues. The light that these distractions radiate doesn’t endure forever, and when the last spark becomes nothing more than a flicker, we are left feeling even more lost than we were before.
Truth = Light
But…GOOD NEWS!! We have a God that is ready and waiting to guide our lost hearts to peace, healing, and abundant joy. Psalm 119:105 shows us this hope. His Word that is alive and active and God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16), that is sharper than any sword (Hebrews 4:12) is the Truth that leads us in a world so difficult to navigate. Our Good Shepard is here to guide His lost sheep, and He provides us with clarity, encouragement, and wisdom through His Word (one of the many ways He speaks to us). And, for that, we rejoice because we don’t have to walk through this life alone. He has overcome the darkness! His Word endures forever!
